In 2007, my husband and I purchased a property with the dream of
owning and operating a successful pet resort / dog training facility.  At
that time, the property was known as RicAli Kennels.  The owner
offered to include his dogs in the purchase of the property which we
declined as we were not interested in breeding.  Richard, the owner of
RicAli Kennels, was terminally ill.  He held onto one dog
who was his pride, joy and best friend.  After Richard
passed, Alicia asked us if we would consider adopting
Maximus.  This dog was obvious dignified power with a
regal presence about him that commanded respect.  I
was hesitant but being involved in rescue for over 25
years, I kept an open mind.  After three days of visiting
Maximus, I held my breath and opened the door to his kennel run.  I
was greeted with hugs and kisses by a  powerful muscular dog yet
gentle in his offers of affection.  The bond was immediate and Maximus
became a part of our family that day.  Every day with him was
amazing.  His loyalties were unquestioned and he knew we adored him.
My husband and I researched the breed with an intrigued fever.  We
soon discovered the man we met was well respected and infamous for
the dogs he produced in the bulldog world.  He dedicated much of his
life to the betterment of the breed, and many, to this day still talk
  about the RicAli bulldogs.
Our time with Maximus was short. We lost him eight months later. Our
hearts were broken and the property felt empty.  We adored Maximus
in such a way that we both agreed we wanted a dog from Maximus’
progeny.  We wanted a red male with a black mask.  That male is
Crush who was born a little over a year since Maximus passed.  He is
everything we have hoped for and we found ourselves consumed by
love for this breed.  Today we have several who are cherished family
members that accompany us to our pet resort every day.
Our passion has inspired us to become breeders in hopes that we can
continue to emulate the best representation of the breed.  We chose the
name Living a Legacy Bulldogges in honor of Rich Martin and the dogs
he produced such as Maximus who left an impression in our hearts that
  changed us forever.
Over the years, our experience in the breed has been an amazing
journey that we are blessed to continue to experience.  The only way
to prove a high quality breeding dog is through health testing while
investing time in training, testing potential and performing.
We are committed to the breed, our dogs as well as our puppy homes.
We hope you enjoy our website and find it educational.  If you have
any questions or would like to know more, please feel free to contact
  us.
